A Brief History

We have been running off road motorcycle schools of various types for about 15 years now. Some of you may know us as the Geraint Jones Enduro school, which was our name before Yamaha became our major backer in 1991 hence, "Yamaha Offroad Experience". Geraint started out running a small number of 2 day enduro schools aimed at the those who ride regularly in competition, based around his own competition schedule about 15 years ago. This then became more popular, resulting in an increase in the number of total beginners attending and Geraint deciding there was a definiite need for a school aimed at a lower level. As a result the offroad experience was born, aimed at beginners and so called newcomers to offroad motorcycling. This has now been running for nearly ten years, and has become very popular expanding slightly every year. Although it has remained very much a family business, offering a personal service to all.

Geraint Jones - Senior Instructor
Geraint is one of the most respected figures within off road motorcycle sport in the UK over the past 30 years. His achievements speak for themslelvees, both competitively and in the field of coaching. He has been 10 times British Enduro Champion, 8 times ISDE Gold mealdist and is currently the ACU National Asessor and International coach for enduros.

Rowan Jones - Instructor
Geraint's oldest son Rowan is a fully qualified ACU National coach, and now undertakes a large amount of coaching. In his short career his achievments include: 2 silver and 1 gold ISDE medals, 4th 1999 World Junior Championship, and British Expert and Clubman Championships on his way up through the ranks.

Dylan Jones - Instructor
Dylan is a qualified ACU coach, and is the youngest of the Jones clan. His achievments include 5th 2001 British 125cc Enduro Championship, 1 ISDE Silver medal, and British Expert and Clubman Championships on his way up through the ranks.

Wyn Hughes - Instructor
Wyn is a fully qualified national coach, and has been one of the country's top competitors and coaches for many years. His competitive achievements include: runner up 1999 Overall British Enduro Championship, twice 500cc 4stroke British Champion, and 5 ISDE Gold Medals.
